Abstract

the paper proposes a new detection method for partial discharge in transformer. Different from conventional UHF method, which mainly detects electromagnetic wave motivated by discharge, the proposed method detects current pulse signal excited by discharge in UHF band from bushing tap grounding wire. An experiment is performed to study feasibility of the proposed method and to make a contrast with conventional UHF method.
