Abstract
In this work, a complex time resolved study of gold nanoshell synthesis using silver-gold galvanic replacement reaction was carried out. Sequential extraction of the synthesis fragments on each stage of the nanoshells preparation allowed us to obtain a series of nanostructures, each one with its own unique geometrical and optical properties. Nanostructures that were isolated on the initial synthesis stages are mostly bimetallic spherical formations, which transform into solid nanoshells on the last stage of the reaction and further into spheroidal assemblies of separate nanostructures. Step by step research of nanostructures at each stage shows the ability of smooth LSPR spectrum nano tuning in the range from 400 to 720 nm.
