Abstract

The thermal decomposition of copper(II)-cobalt(II) hydroxide nitrate solid solutions, CuxCo2−x(OH)3NO3 (0 < x ⩽ 2.0) in air has been studied by thermal and X-ray diffraction techniques. It has been shown that the solid solutions formed are of a partially-ordered, substitutional type and that the reaction sequence during the thermal decomposition depends on the value of the stoichiometric coefficient x.
