Abstract

Compared with conventional static relaying techniques, mobile relaying offers new degree of freedom (DoA) for the performance improvement in dynamic communication environment. An unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) system with mobile signal source that utilizes mobile relaying technique is considered first. A novel suboptimal iterative algorithm is proposed to improve the throughput of UAV relay systems by optimizing the trajectory of the relay. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm significantly outperforms the static relaying and converges faster than the existing algorithms.
