With this concept in mind, sports performance coaches can manipulate training variables in order to optimize athletic performance and help athletes achieve their goals. However, additional research is warranted investigating how certain resistance training variables impact muscular adaptations. Thus, the purpose of this literature review is to explore the impact of resistance training on sportsperformance through adaptations in muscular strength, hypertrophy, endurance, and power.
