Guthrie Diabetes Center: The First Five Years

Abstract

Because of the toll taken by diabetes and its complications, efforts are being made to improve care of diabetic patients. Although improved treatments and even a cure may be forthcoming, presently available interventions allow treatment to prevent complications. The team approach to diabetes care, proven to benefit individuals with diabetes, has been behind the development and philosophy of the Guthrie Diabetes Center, which has been successfully treating a large population of diabetic patients since its inception five years ago.
