KALINA JANEVA is a PhD candidate in English and American studies at the Albert Ludwig University of Freiburg, as well as a research assistant at the University of Regensburg. Her research project examines female hunger, with a particular emphasis on voluntary food abstinence, as communicated in women’s prose in English from the early modern to the mid-Victorian periods.
