Abstract

Among the various candidates for fluid transportation GFRP is now considered to be one of the best, although some minor difficulties are found in designing a proper junction. This is particularly true in connection with present standard requirements, usually given for different materials.

The present paper has been prepared with the aim of showing that the major problem of using composites for piping, that is the design criterion, can be solved in the case of filament wound piping if all the possible loads on the pipe are fully accounted for.

Examples of design and applications are reported.
