Abstract
: The present study carried out a retrospective survey of a slaughterhouse located in Uberaba-Mg, Brazil, analyzing cases of bovine cysticercosis from February 2016 to February 2018. This study allowed identifying the cities of origin of contaminated cattle and linking the five largest percentages of the disease with the HDI of the cities of origin, since such an index verifies factors such as education, population longevity and per capita income, and such aspects may directly contribute to the increase in incidence of the disease. Although there is no relationship between the highest incidence rates with the lowest HDI's in this study, it was possible to observe that poor education was a relevant and common point in the analyzed municipalities.
