O assistente social e as relações trabalho-saúde: um estudo exploratório em unidade municipal de emergência do Rio de Janeiro/RJ

Abstract

This article presents the results of a qualitative and exploratory research which aimed at apprehending social workers’ perceptions on the health-work relations in the emergency room at the Lourenco Jorge Municipal Hospital ( HMLJ) by analyzing how these relations are seen by these professionals. The empirical research was based on a questionnaire applied to eleven social workers. Results show that these professionals identify with their activity; however, they admit the stress brought up by their work conditions and relations. This fact demands a consideration of institutional actions that may contribute to the workers’ health in this working scenario.
