Sub Title Rethinking the concept of "information" Author 緑川, 信之(Midorikawa, Nobuyuki) Publisher 三田図書館・情報学会 Publication year 2006 Jtitle Library and information science No.56 (2006. ) ,p.2342 Abstract The concept of information has traditionally been treated from two points of view: one assumes that information is a "thing" and the other assumes that it is a "non-thing" (typically, a process). To this point, no approach has attempted to unify these two stances. In this article, I define the concept of information as nonthing, but I also show how information can also be seen as a thing. The article also includes a comparison of my definition of the concept of information with some traditional definitions. In addition, I discuss the necessity of investigating various terms that include the word "information" which are used in library and information science, such as information retrieval and information use. これまで、「情報」概念は2つの捉え方をされてきた: 情報をモノとして捉える立 場とモノではないという立場である。両者を統一的に捉えることはまだ行われて いない。本稿では、「情報」はモノではないという立場から、「情報」概念を定 義し、同時に、なぜモノのようにみえることもあるのかを説明した。さらに、筆 者の「情報」概念の定義と、これまでの代表的な「情報」 概念の定義との比較を 行った。また、情報検索や情報利用など図書館情報学における種々の「情報」を 冠する用語の検討が必要であることを指摘した。 Notes 原著論文 Genre Journal Article URL https://koara.lib.keio.ac.jp/xoonips/modules/xoonips/detail.php?koara_id=AN000 03152-00000056-0023
