Abstract

In a narrative way, the article presents the background of the events that led to the inclusion of the discipline of authorial reading in the teaching of a particular lower basic school. The initial assumption is that authorial reading can be a suitable alternative to the development of key competencies in addition to the practice of stylistic units. Based on the obtained data, the main goal is to formulate one’s own pedagogical experience at the school during an eightyear practice with authorial reading. The secondary goal is to use case studies to illustrate the ways in which specifi c students (and parents) can approach authorial reading.
