Abstract
This essay analyzes the illegal negotiation practices that the viceroys Duke of Alburquerque (1653-1660) and Count of Banos (1660-1664), as well as their relatives and close friends, carried out in the trans-Pacific trade, with the support of the merchants of Mexico City in a years in which such traffic had declined.
