A search of the library literature indicated that such a list was not in existence. Neither the Monthly Checklist of State Publications nor the Public As air s Information Service Bulletin contain complete listings of the state vital statistics reports. It was felt that it would be helpful to have the titles of these documents collected in one list. The United States vital statistics summaries have a time lag of three to five years at the present time. State reports often have more current data and contain information that is not available in the national compilations.
