L'etude des inscriptions et objets anciens constituait une importante part de la vie intellectuelle sous la dynastie des Song du Nord (960-1127). Selon les sources ecrites, Li Gongli (v. 1042-1106) etait un collectioneur, mais egalement l'un des plus important artistes de la dynastie. Cet article tente de reconstituer la collection de bronzes et de jades constituee par Li Gongli, sur lesquels il a fonde beaucoup de ses etudes, et d'evaluer ses opinions de specialiste, dont certaines influencent encore l'etude des arts de la Chine ancienne
