Abstract

Introduction: Libraries provide information and reference services to make relevant information available to their users, helping them to satisfy their information needs. To achieve their purposes, libraries and information and reference services need to follow the changes presented by the environment in which they operate. Among them, the hybrid libraries. Method: In order to verify the adjustments needed in the information and reference services to be offered in hybrid libraries, a qualitative and exploratory study was carried out. A bibliographic research was developed on specific materials about the theme information and reference services and hybrid libraries - within the scope of Information Science. Results: As a result, it is emphasized that information and reference services need to be adapted in libraries that are configured hybrid. Conclusion: It is stated that information and reference services are directly affected by the concept of hybrid library, which brings the need to rethink its scope and vision.
