Abstract

This technological article aims to analyze the development, launch and market evolution of the Volkswagen (VW) Fox when analyzed under the concept of value innovation. The research methodology was a longitudinal case study (1999-2014), as the analysis was limited to a single automotive product from its conception stage until the time the research was conducted. As a result, value innovation tools were adopted retrospectively in order to analyze a product developed by the researched company’s own process. In conclusion, the VW Fox market introduction could be considered as a case of value innovation.
