Abstract

By considering what historical analysis has produced on values that contributed to the justifying and building of a power structure in domestic community sphere in Early Modern Europe, this article points out those values that where underneath the production of domestic violence as well as its expressions. It also evaluates historical analytical perspectives of research in order to explain the complexity of this phenomenon and find out its impact in traditional societies, stressing the basic methodological contribution of microhistory on this research field.
