El utillaje de la ira: las armas del maltratador en los siglos XVI y XVII

Abstract

This article is focused on some selected cases of domestic violence in Navarre along the Early Modern years, with special attention to the weapons used to damage (physically or morally) any household member. The sources had been picked up from the Trials Subsection of the General Archive of Navarre. The bibliographical references are, because of the target, very especific, only related to the iberian field, as far as the study does not pretend to look into similar cases in other countries, but to show how easily the violence could be inflicted. The conclusion is that many domestic tools, the body of the attacker included, could be weaponized to cause even mortal damage.
