Studi dilakukan dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Dalam studi kasus ini data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam dengan pihak-pihak yang terlibat dalam pengelolaan Desa Informasi. Selain itu dilakukan pula pengamatan langsung terhadap operasional Desa Informasi di lapangan, serta studi dokumen terkait. Studi ini antara lain menemukan bahwa manajemen dalam layanan informasi masyarakat Desa Pasar VI Kualanamu menghadapi kendala yaitu tidak adanya koordinasi antar unsur yang seharusnya terlibat dalam pengelolaan Desa Informasi serta pengawasan kegiatan di lapangan. Oleh sebab itu perbaikan tata kelola Desa Informasi sangat diperlukan dengan melibatkan semua sumberdaya sesuai dengan perencanaan kegiatan dan pengoperasian, serta pengawasan berdasarkan prinsip-prinsip tata kelola yang baik dan benar. Abstract This Paper reports finding of a study conducted to the management of “information village” which was planned and built by the Indonesian government in Pasar VI Kualanamu village, District of Beringin, Deli Serdang Regency, the Province of North Sumatra. The case study employed kualitative approach, where the data was collected through in-depth interviews. Beside direct observation was conducted on the activities and condition of information village as well. Some examination of documents, and archival footage were also conducted to complete the data. The most important finding shows that the management faced some barriers, primarily there were no coordination and control to elements involved in the operation of the information village. Abstract
