Although global poverty has decreased, the prevalence of diabetes among rural areas has increased; as the number of people with diabetes is now at 422 million people worldwide, there is an immediate need to address food patterns/diets and lifestyles. Abstract
Many countries globally are experiencing a rise in the prevalence of diabetes.
