Abstract
Gallipoli was an important trade center during the Ottoman Empire. However, aftere the Industrial Revulution, the region became a battleground one after another, making trade difficult. The occupation period after the First World War also negatively affected trade. After getting rid of the occupation, the fact that the Greeks and Armenians in the region had to leave Gallipoli caused the trade to be largely in the hands of the Jews.
Commercial life was tried to be reshaped within the framework of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Law, which was accepted in 1925 and entered into force in 1926. In this context, according to the records of the Gallipoli Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Jewish merchants in Gallipoli were identified and their professions were tried to be revealed.
