Research has given rise to a number of issues that need to be debated and deepened, notably in the context of the language of science teaching, in the training of teachers themselves, and in the relationship that can be established between science and traditional knowledge in the early years of primary education. portuguesEste artigo aborda problematicas relativas ao ensino das ciencias numa das principais linguas nacionais de Angola, o umbundu, com incidencia numa tematica de particular importância, o ciclo hidrologico. O estudo foi realizado em zona rural da Provincia do Kuanza-Sul, englobando docentes, estudantes e formadores de professores.
