The descriptors considered for the analysis were author, advisor, year of defense, degree (master’s or doctorate), postgraduate program, university, content theme, level of education and thematic research. Eighty six papers on the topic were found, the first being defended in 1983. After reading the papers they were classified into seven educational themes: analysis of textbooks, proposals education, conceptions of students, conceptions of teachers, teacher training, curriculum and contributions of History and Philosophy of Biology for teaching. portuguesResumo O presente estudo se propos a analisar qualitativamente as dissertacoes e teses produzidas entre 1983 e 2013, relativas ao Ensino de Biologia que tem como foco tematico a Historia e Filosofia da Ciencia, a fim de apontar as contribuicoes do conjunto dos trabalhos para o ensino e a pesquisa. Os descritores considerados para a analise foram autor, orientador, ano de defesa, grau de titulacao (mestrado ou doutorado), programa de pos-graduacao, universidade, area de conteudo, nivel escolar e problematicas de investigacao. Foram localizados 86 trabalhos, sendo o primeiro defendido em 1983.
