Abstract

The significant role of married women of equestrian range in Roman society, as well as that of the  feminine presence belonging to senatorial and imperial families in the municipalities of the Roman Nuceria,  Stabiae and Surrentum : their honors and political influence, their interaction with the local administration,  their own financial affairs. The engagement of these women in the family holseholding and its  administration, and the domestic activities of their own female and male slaves. Some epigraphical and  archaeological testimonies.
