"Os cantores do Senhor": três trajetórias em um processo de industrialização da música evangélica no Brasil

Abstract

Over the two past decades, in special, several companies from different production areas, aiming to reach the evangelical segment, which is expanding rapidly in Brazil, have specialized in manufacturing evangelical products. Among these companies, the music industry has given an outstanding contribution, as well as the radios in this segment, in order to adopt a more industrial style in the production and broadcasting of the evangelical albums. Through the analysis of the career of three Gospel singers, the objective of this article is to understand the way these artists are behaving regarding the new professional conditions previously mentioned. Besides, our intention is also to point out some problems and "ruptures" occurring in the musical universe of the evangelists, since a mercantile and industrial logic was incorporated to this universe.
