Abstract
This issue of Journal of Religious Gerontology has been guestedited by Kenneth Branco, PhD, Director of the Joseph W. Martin, Jr. Institute for Law and Society and Professor of Sociology at Stonehill College, Easton, Massachusetts. These papers were originally presented at the Annual Meeting of the Gerontological Society of America, in San Francisco, California in November of 1999. They reflect an important cross section of the quantitative work done in the area of religion, spirituality and aging. This collection is dedicated to the memory of L. Eugene Thomas who contributed to one of the papers in this issue. Like the work of Dr. Thomas, this issue explores fundamental topics through research that is both interfaith and multi-national. It is my hope that you will find them to be as useful as I have in continuing to define both research and practice.
