Abstract

The four papers that follow were all originally delivered at Local Economy Policy Unit (LEPU) seminars I organised on the theme of capacity building. The papers, in their different ways, all discuss how to move beyond the first flush of enthusiasm for a new initiative, to effectively involve local people in the long run.
