Abstract
It is time for celebration as we look back at the progress we have made in the Asia Pacific Medical Education Conference (APMEC) series we initiated in 2003. We have grown from a local meeting of 250 participants to a regional conference attended by more than 700 medical educationalists from over 40 countries. Indeed, the theme specially chosen for our 10th Anniversary Conference ‘In Celebration of Innovation and Scholarship in Medical and Health Professional EducationTrends, Issues, Priorities, Strategies (TIPS)’ clearly reflects the joyous spirit of this conference. Yet, it is also an opportune time for us to seriously take stock of the global educational landscape fast beckoning us to consider the need to change what and how our medical and health professional students need to learn in a fast changing world.
