Preparation for Delivery: A Case Study Involving a Morbidly Obese Woman

Abstract

Abstract The number of morbidly obese women of childbearing age greatly increased over the last decade. These women require highly specialized care during pregnancy, especially at time of delivery, because of the potential for multiple comorbidities and the increased risk for poor outcome for themselves and their infants. Hospitals need to ensure that not only is the patient prepared for delivery, but also the hospital staff and environments are prepared.
