The Development of Russia's Rural Territories

Abstract

This article analyzes the socioeconomics of rural territories and a survey of the heads of local governments' agricultural agencies and agricultural businesses. Changes in the Russian countryside, actual or expected contributions by state and federal programs to rural development, and opinions as to what areas of development should be assigned the highest priority are all examined.
