Abstract
Unintentional strangulation in children is a preventable cause of injury. Health care providers caring for injured children may not always consider the positive impact that they can have after such an incident. After caring for a child who had experienced a life-threatening accident involving a cable tie, the author explored the options available to health care providers in preventing similar incidences in other children. (Int J Trauma Nurs 2001;7:60-3.)
