Abstract

By: Texas Scottish Rite Hospital Producer: Alex Carduff For: Hospital patients and their families who might be unfamiliar with the process of creating artificial limbs Synopsis: The production of prosthetic limbs for children is a complicated, multi-faceted and timeconsuming process. The Orthotics and Prosthetics staff at the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital are often presented with the challenge of explaining this process with limited visual aids consisting mostly of finished prosthetics (artificial limbs) and orthotics (braces). ‘Works of Art’ was produced for patients and their families to artistically demonstrate and visualize the creation of artificial limbs for children by a group of talented and creative technicians.
