Abstract

This article is an English translation of the work cited in 46: Title 3164. The author examines the importance of taking ethnic factors into consideration in constructing regional population forecasts in the Soviet Union. The number and distribution of ethnic groups, as well as changes in the characteristics of these groups over time, are analyzed.
