Abstract

Statistics is a branch of mathematics that is involved with collecting, analyzing, interpreting and presenting various types of data. It can also be overwhelming for novice researchers who have not had much exposure to formal research or statistical courses. This selfdirected learning package will provide an informal overview of the basics of descriptive and inferential statistics that will enable radiation science professionals to have more confidence when critically appraising published literature or developing research protocols. Learners will be able to assess their understanding by completing the multiplechoice questions that are provided after each section.
