Abstract
The purpose of the present article is to identify the industrial regions within Russia using different criteria (economic, but also social and ecological). In addition to this, a number of the indicators for regional development analysis are offered. An industrial production share in a gross regional product is accepted as a key criteria of selection a region as industrial.
