Dosis, compresión y «riesgo de dolor» en mamografía

Abstract

Available data in literature indicate that 75% of women consider mammography as a painful experience. They are also convinced that pain is the rule rather than the exception. Subjective assessment of the quality of both diagnostic and care performance, as well the report of the experience, are influenced by the level of pain experienced during testing. Since this is an important element for the success of prevention campaigns, the various factors that may affect what is known in the literature as “risk of pain” is worth studying more closely to find out if it is possible to intervene and, if so, how.
