Infrequent use and non-use of government publications by social scientists

Abstract

The social scientists investigated were not, as a whole, dependent on library resources for their government information. This article probes their reasons for infrequent use and non-use of government publications held by their institutional libraries and notes some of the factors contributing to the possible underutilization of libraries' documents collections. It is believed that these findings have value beyond the institutions surveyed.
