Abstract

The reduction of trimetaphosphate in LiCl-KCl eutectic has been studied over the temperature range 450–700° using voltammetry, chronopotentiometry, and coulometry. The reduction process was observed to be very complex even at the highest temperatures because of prior chemical reactions. A reduction scheme is proposed that is consistent with experimental observations.
