Abstract
Current—voltage curves for the Cr(II)/Cr(III) electrode reaction at the d.m.e. in acidified 0.5 M NaClO4 have been measured and analysed by koutecky's method. After correction of the apparent rate constants for double-layer effects by the method proposed by Frumkin, the transfer coefficient shows a potential-dependence which is in quantitative agreement with current theories of electron-transfer reactions.
