Abstract

The ionization constants of γ-ethyl glutamate have been determined, from 5–50° from e.m.f. measurements of cells without liquid junctions. The equations for ionization constants as a function of temperature are as follows :

Values for the derived thermodynamic quantities have been calculated. The results were interpreted in relation to those known for glutamic acid and α-amino-esters.
