A general equation for the description of redox titration curves

Abstract

An equation is presented for the description of the entire titration curve obtained in homogeneous and symmetrical redox reactions. This equation permits the rigorous calculation of the progress of the titration from the corresponding value of the potential. The form of the equation is investigated in detail at some points of interest. Also discussed, is the relationship between the exact form of the equation and the commonly used equations.
