Abstract

Versatile video coding (VVC)1 is the latest video coding standard that can compress ultrahigh-definition (UHD)-1/4K and UHD-2/8K videos efficiently. Since its standardization in July 2020, various applications of VVC have been studied. This report introduces two types of VVC applications. First, in VVC, multilayer video coding is simple to use as opposed to previous standards.
