Abstract

The solitary fibrous tumor (SFT) is a neoplasia of mesenchymal fibroblastic origin that can appear in different serous membranes. It is a rare disease that represents less than 2% of all soft tissue tumors. In this assignment, the case presented is a 62-year-old patient with pleural SFT which was discovered with only dyspnoea as a symptom; and was treated with surgery and 2 years later with chemotherapy because of inoperable tumor recurrence.
