Abstract

This text aims to demonstrate that material culture, when used as a source for the teaching of Afro-Brazilian and African history and culture, has the potential to contribute to practices based on pluriepistemologies. Therefore, we argue about the need to debate the role of direct sources in the teaching of history, as well as exposing possibilities arising from the study of the material source, in dialogue with the so-called diaspora archeology.
