Bioelectrical Phase Angle as a Factor Associated with Mobility Limitation in Older Cardiac Inpatients

Abstract

The number of elderly individuals with cardiac disease is increasing in countries with aging populations, such as Japan. For example, in large-scale cohort studies of Japanese adults with chronic heart failure, 60%70% of subjects were aged 65 years or older. Older cardiac patients often have additional health issues, such as poor physical function, cognitive impairment, and comorbidity. This can lead to a complex clinical condition and make treatment more difficult.
