Abstract

The term “intersectionality” invokes a different understanding of relationality than that advanced within earlier Western scholarship and political practice. Intersectionality’s basic heuristic, the seemingly simple idea that entities that are typically treated as separate may actually be interconnected, has had a major impact on disciplinary knowledge.
