New fixed point theorem for generalized contractions

Abstract

In this paper we give a Ciric type fixed point theorem in a complete metric space; this theorem extends other well-known fixed point theorems ([7], [8], [9]). Two examples are given to demonstrate the importance of our work. 2000 Mathematics Subject Classification: 47H10, 54H25.
