Abstract

In this editorial, on the occasion of the twenty years of Informacion, Cultura y Sociedad , the problems and the new challenges of the edition of academic journals are analyzed. It also reflects on a series of aspects related to commercial publishing processes and open access. Finally, some preliminary proposals on this subject are addressed.
