Abstract
Supplemental Digital Content is Available in the Text. Physical activity interventions are recommended for people with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). However, adherence is low. This scoping review aimed to provide detailed descriptions of physical activity counseling interventions for people with COPD that have been studied in randomized controlled trials. Common components included the use of pedometers/activity monitors, goal setting, and recording physical activity in a written or electronic diary. Clinicians could consider including these components within their management of people with COPD to promote increased physical activity levels. Additional research is needed to determine the key components that drive physical activity behavior change in this population.
